  • Why this link can be trusted? Google is widely integrated into even academic institutions and is currently the benchmark for earth-imaging in the public sector.
  • How teachers might use it: Teachers can add images of the real world, from satellite and street view, into virtually any investigation or unit. This is a great resource to embed geography into the classroom.
  • How students might use it: When students practice the platform, they can make presentations of geographically relevant places, from countries to monuments, to earth features.

2. Padlet

  • Why this link can be trusted? Used by millions of educators and students worldwide, Padlet is widely respected for its privacy commitments.
  • How teachers might use it: Using Padlet, teachers can create digital bulletin boards linking, in a fun and visual way, sites and pages from varied sources.  Making a set of resources for students would be facilitated with Padlet.
  • How students might use it: Students can use Padlet to brainstorm.  As they search the internet, Padlet provides a comfortable space for them to pin what they find.

4. Canva for Education

  • Why this link can be trusted?  Canva is free and secure with a prominent presence in schools already.  
  • How teachers might use it: There are many templates to enhance visual presentations.
  • How students might use it: Students can create excellent, professional-quality presentations using Canva.  It has so many templates and animations and graphics that students can focus instead on the core ideas, and bring them to life with the presentation platform.
